Cretaceous flora

Cretaceous flora — branch of the Ukrainian steppe natural reserve. Complex reserve. There are in Krasnolimansky area of Donetsk area near villages Zakotnoe and the Onions Curve (500 hectares) and Slavyansk area of Donetsk area of village near Piskunovka (634 hectares). The Total area — 1134 hectares.
The reserve status is appropriated by the order of Ministerial council USSR from July, 14th, 1988 № 310-r and the order of the President of Academy of Sciences USSR № 2262 from December, 13th, 1988.
The ecosystem represents a complex of cretaceous vegetation in a river Severski Donets valley.

In reserve territory natural pine forests with a pine cretaceous grow. Pine forests of different age with good vital firmness. In pine forests a high density of crones.
Part of plants in reserve are brought in the Red book of Ukraine. Among them — a cretaceous pine, a lumbago blackening, a genista Don, a hazel grouse Russian.
13,4 % of territory of reserve make pine forests, 10,7 % — barrack-type woods, 28 % — the rarefied vegetative groups of cretaceous adjournment, 32,5 % steppe plants, 7,5 % — others.
Cretaceous flora — a unique site in Ukraine where natural pine forests with a pine cretaceous are taken under protection.
Cretaceous flora — a unique place for botany. Here plants which all over the world meet only on cretaceous exposures grow together plants of mountain, coniferous and deciduous woods.
Excursions in reserve aren't spent, as he is used only with the nature protection and research purposes.
